Beverly Maxine Denise (Fehr) Van Oeveren passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025 at the Imperial Manor, Imperial, Nebraska. She was 101 years old.

Beverly Fehr was born on November 6, 1923, in the small town of Weldona, Colorado, to Henry and Denise (Bruchez) Fehr. At just a few months old, Beverly and her family relocated to Englewood, Colorado. Her mother took her and her sister by train, while her father and older brother traveled by horse and wagon, bringing along their household items. Her early years were marked by frequent moves, but the family eventually settled in Broomfield.

Beverly’s early years were also marked by health challenges; she caught whooping cough, measles, and chickenpox from the school-age children living next door. She was the middle child, with an older brother, Fred, an older sister, Inez and a younger brother, Dennis.

Beverly attended Adams Country School through 8th grade. In 9th grade, she transferred to Westminster Union High and later completed her senior year at Adams City Union High, where she met her high school sweetheart, Harold Van Oeveren. After graduation, World War II broke out. In 1943, Harold joined the Merchant Marines and Beverly took a job in an optical office in Denver. In the spring of 1946, she quit her job to marry Harold, who had just returned from the war. Their wedding was held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church on June 14, 1946.

After their marriage, they built a small house and welcomed a daughter, Linda, in 1949. Harold worked for Shell Chemical. In 1954 his job took their family to Holland. In 1955 they returned to Colorado. In 1956 they bought a home in Westminster and lived there for 29 years and then moved to Sterling, Colorado. After retiring, Beverly and Harold traveled the world, they went to Europe twice, the Orient twice, South America three times, Mexico four times and the Caribbean three times. In 1995 Harold and Beverly sold their home and moved to a smaller townhouse. They were married for 56 wonderful years! Harold passed away in 2002.

Beverly had many hobbies. She was a stamp collector for many years. She loved to sew and especially enjoyed making felt and sequin Christmas ornaments. She sewed until her eyes would no longer allow her to thread a needle. She also enjoyed reading and doing genealogy research.

When she could no longer live alone, Linda moved her mother to Imperial Parkview Heights Assisted Living in Imperial, NE. In May, 2025, Beverly moved to the Imperial Manor where she passed away.

Beverly would have celebrated her 102nd birthday on November 6th, 2025. She is survived by her daughter Linda (Scott) Clements, her granddaughter Gentry (Jon) White, her grandson Jason (Sara) Heermann, and 5 great grandchildren, Jerod White, Gabbie White, Sean Heermann, Ashlyn Heerman, and Dylan Heermann.
