"She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue." - Proverbs 31:25–26
Beverly Jean, lovingly known to many as Bev, passed peacefully in her sleep and went home to be with our Lord on the morning of October 26th, 2025, in Marble Falls, Texas, at the age of 81. Born on May 11, 1944, in Pewee Valley, Kentucky, Bev lived a life marked by love, faith, and devotion to her family.
Bev's faith was the foundation of her life. She had a deep and abiding love for the Lord, and her trust in Him guided her through every season of her life. Her quiet strength, kindness, and compassion reflected the grace she found in her faith, and she was a shining example of what it means to live a Christian life with purpose and heart.
Like Rebekah (Genesis 24:58), whose life was led into unknowns and required trust in God's plan, Bev lived her life with steadfast faith-believing that the path before her was guided by God's hand and grace.
She is survived by her husband, Don Wallace of Tennessee; her three children, Matthew Simonsen, Mark Simonsen, and Lisa Simonsen; and her cherished grandchildren, Hannah and Garrett Simonsen, who brought immense joy to her life. Bev is also survived by her older brother, Robert Levi Covington III, and her younger brother, James William Covington. Bev was preceded in death by her twin sister, Joanie LaFond, with whom she shared a lifelong bond that remained unbroken through life and death. The thought of their reunion brings comfort to all who loved her and understood their bond.
Those who knew Bev will remember her warm smile, gentle humor, and the way she made everyone feel welcome and loved. She faced life's challenges with grace and courage, always putting others before herself and finding beauty in the simplest of moments. She encouraged those around her with faith-filled words and a steady heart, truly living the spirit of Psalm 31:24 – "Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord."
Her love, faith, and laughter will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will forever cherish the memories they shared with her.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 11th at 10:00 a.m. at the Hoover's Valley Cemetery Chapel, located at 7650 Park Rd 4 W., Burnet, TX 78611. It is an honor to gather on this day-Veterans Day-a time set aside to reflect on courage, sacrifice, and gratitude. Beverly had many loved ones who served in the military, including her father and two brothers, and she carried deep pride and respect for their service.
Throughout her life, she had the privilege of traveling the world as the daughter of a Lieutenant Colonel-living in Germany, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, and many places across the United States. She loved those experiences and often spoke of what an amazing life it was-one filled with adventure, love, and faith. She honored those who served, was proud to be an "Army Brat," and would be especially glad to be remembered on a day that celebrates their devotion and sacrifice.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." – Matthew 25:23
