Beverly J. Weiche, age 75 of Barnes, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville.
Bev was born January 6, 1948, in Beatrice, Nebraska, to Wilfred F. and Edna L. (Saathoff) Leseberg. She was baptized and confirmed at Bremen Bethlehem Lutheran Church and graduated from grade school at Bremen Bethlehem Lutheran School. She graduated from Marysville High School in 1966. On November 4, 1967, she married Jerry K. Weiche. He passed away in 2006. She completed cosmetology school and worked as a hairdresser. Later she worked in food service at various places. Bev is a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, south of Barnes and a fifty-five-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Barnes.
Bev spent a lot of time helping Jerry on farm. She enjoyed cooking, crochet and just being with people. She also loved spending time with her nieces and nephews, her dog JR and being part of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
Survivors include brother Jim (Alvera) Leseberg of Herkimer, a brother and sister in law Rick and Anita Weiche of Hanover, nieces, nephews and her many friends.
Preceding Bev in death were parents, her husband Jerry and a brother Roger Leseberg.
Viewing is from noon to 8:00 pm, Sunday, with visitation between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm, at Christie-Anderes Funeral Home in Waterville.
Funeral services are at 10:30 am, Monday, January 16, 2023, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church south of Barnes with Pastor Joshua Hayes officiating. Kathie Otney will be the musician. Congregational hymns include “God’s Own Child”, “The Lord Is My Shepherd” and “For All The Saints”. Casket Bearers are: Kevin Weiche, Michael Weiche, Tom Luppen, Scott Schotte, Cody Richter and Ryan Diederich. Honorary Bearers are: Vinny Leseberg, Michelle Luppen and Jami Schotte. Burial is at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church or Good Shepherd Lutheran School in Marysville and may be sent in care of Christie-Anderes Funeral Home at PO Box 61, Waterville, Kansas 66548.
