Beverly Wurman

Beverly Dian Wurman (1933 – 1924)
Our mother passed away on October 12, 2024 at the age of 91. She lived a long and colorful life. Our family immigrated from Czechoslovakia and settled in Chicago, where my mother was born on March 1, 1933. Music and art were a regular activity around our house. My mother loved to sing and dance. Growing up, we had a baby grand piano where my mother would sit down and just start playing (without music). She idolized Judy Garland, Lucille Ball and Frank Sinatra. She listened to Rachmaninoff. She made us cheese blinzes for breakfast. Our parents met and married in Michigan, where they met on a double-date. We then moved to Pennsylvania, where our mother decided to enter college. She graduated from Drexel Institute of Technology in Philadelphia, something she was very proud of. She was a certified teacher in Elementary Education and later focused on working in nutrition. Our mother eventually returned to Michigan. Lansing was where her twin sister and our cousins lived and where she sadly passed away. My mother was a life-long animal lover.
