Bill Joseph Funk, 76, of Park Rapids, MN died suddenly on Monday, January 8, 2024 at the CHI- St. Joseph's Hospital in Park Rapids, MN.
Bill was born October 12, 1947 in Wadena, MN to Frederick and Alice (Dunfee) Funk. After graduating high school in 1966, he lived in various places, including Orton Township, MN; Baudette, MN; Fordland, MO; Cass County, MN; and Park Rapids. He worked for Johnson Construction; K&D Construction; Lamb-Weston RDO; and was a boat inspector for the State of Minnesota. Bill retired in 2013.
Bill was an active member of Masonic Lodge 184 in Park Rapids. He enjoyed farming and he loved his animals. Whenever it was cold out, he always joked about moving to a warmer planet where he could have a little farm and have his cows, horses, goats, dogs and cats. Bill was an avid tractor collector. He was always up for a conversation. He enjoyed spending time with his friends. He liked hunting and was interested in astronomy and the paranormal. He loved to fish, even if he didn't catch anything. And above all, he loved his family. He will be missed.
Bill is survived by his brother Henry Funk, daughter Jessie Funk, ex-wife Darlene Funk, all of Park Rapids; daughter Patricia (Collin) LeVasseur-Funk; stepsons, Kenneth Danks and James Preston.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Alice; wife, Vivian (Parsons) Funk; stepson, Chris Stevens.
Masonic Funeral Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 6:00 PM at the Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Park Rapids, MN. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home chapel. Interment will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery in Park Rapids, MN.
Bill's family suggests floral tributes and/or a tree planting in Bills name and memory.
