Mr. William Everett "Bill" Garner, Jr., 94, of High Point, passed away Friday, May 16, 2025, at Hospice Home at High Point surrounded by his family.
Mr. Garner was born on February 10, 1931, to the late William and Hazel Atkinson Garner. He was a life-long member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, where he was also a member of the choir. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy and the Air Force Reserves.
He and his father began operations of Garner Motors in 1955, that led to the family business changing its name to Weno Power Equipment in 1983, when it became incorporated. His career ended in 2003, when his wife became ill.
He was passionate for his love of music and singing. Bill was an avid airplane enthusiast, where he spent his time building and flying R/C model airplanes. He was always full of life and always had a story to share.
Left to cherish his memory are his two children, Jane Garner and David Garner & wife G'Anzie, along with his nephews, Bill Malpass, Stephen Ellington & wife Cindy, and Jerry Scheidegg & wife Linda.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 2:00PM in the sanctuary of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, 1225 Chestnut Drive in High Point with the Rev. Clark Chilton officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM in the Asbury Room.
Burial will follow immediately after the service at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery in Greensboro, located at 6000 W. Gate City Blvd.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice of the Piedmont, at 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point NC 27262.

Shannon and I sending love and prayers. Bill was a pillar of the community and a fine man. I remember him riding his Honda Gold Wing over to my house when I was growing up and sitting in the driveway chatting with my dad. Always smiling and kind, with an energy that radiated all around him. Godspeed Mr. Bill...you will be missed!
