Victor Garner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by R.E. Pearson and Son Funeral Service, Inc. - Lawrenceville on Feb. 8, 2026.
Victor Garner, age 74, of Emporia, Virginia, peacefully transitioned on February 5, 2026. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose life was marked by hard work, laughter, and love.

Victor began building his future at an early age, attending Job Corps at just 16 years old. He later dedicated over 30 years of faithful service to Georgia-Pacific, where he was known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and pride in providing for his family. After many years of committed service, he retired, leaving behind a legacy of diligence and perseverance.

In his free time, Victor enjoyed skating, fishing, and gambling, but most of all, he cherished time spent with family and friends. He was well known for his warm smile, joyful spirit, and the laughter he shared so freely. The happiness he brought into the lives of others will forever be remembered.

Victor was preceded in death by those who went before him and leaves to cherish his memory his ex-wife, Joan Green, and their three sons, Victor "Montrale" Garner, Jonas "J.D." Garner, and Justin Garner (Latoya). He also leaves his current wife, Sheila Garner; and their sons, Joshua Vaughan, Titus Garner, and Kwanzie Garner (Danielle); his brother, Alexander Garner; thirteen grandchildren; two daughters-in-love, Precious Colbert and Michelle Garrett; along with a host of extended family members and dear friends.

Victor Garner's legacy of love, laughter, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

"What we have once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes a part of us."
- Helen Keller
