Bill Hazlewood, age 71, resident of Chickamauga, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.
Mr. Hazelwood, son of the late J.T. Hazelwood and Margaret Elizabeth Purser Hazelwood, was born November 14, 1953 in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. He was a 1971 graduate of Rossville High School where he was a member of the band and played football. He also served in the Alumni Association. Mr. Hazelwood was a member of Moriah Baptist Church and was a retired accountant, where he served many people within the Chattanooga Valley area for over 30 years. Mr. Hazelwood enjoyed going to car shows and watching college football (particularly Georgia Bulldogs). While at home, he would be seen watching classic western television shows and movies. He also listened to 70s classic rock. The family remembers him as a good husband, father, brother and friend.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vicki Renee Thompson Hazlewood.
Mr. Hazlewood is survived by one daughter, Tiffany Hazlewood; one son, Josh Hazlewood; one sister, Ann Hazlewood; one brother J.W. (Jean Simons Hazlewood) Hazlewood; one granddaughter, Shaylah Hazlewood; many other relatives and friends.
Graveside services are scheduled at Lakewood Memory Gardens South, 325 Green Lake Road, Rossville, Georgia on Monday, June 16, 2025, 2 p.m. with Reverend Randy Lynn officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Monday, June 16, 2025 from 12 noon till 1:30 p.m.
