"Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you." Isaiah 43:1-2
On Wednesday, April 30, 2025, William Alan Love, 70, known to those that loved him as Bill, Dad, and Pots, left this life for his heavenly home peacefully and surrounded by family. He was born July 23, 1954 in Atlanta, Georgia to Alva (Al) Love and Madru Hames Love, both of whom preceded him in death. Bill attended Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) but remained a lifelong fan of the University of Georgia's Bulldogs.
Bill shared a profound relationship with God and held deep love for his family and his church community. A devoted student of God's Word, he dedicated time each day to studying scripture and exploring topics in Christian apologetics, often appreciating the insightful works of Dr. Michael Heiser's. He enjoyed camping, gunmanship, silly slapstick comedy, and riding the fastest rollercoasters he could find. As an unofficial 'pit master', he could artfully grill or smoke any dish requested, with his loyal dog, Beau, by his side. Above all, Bill had a passion for music; he was a talented vocalist and guitarist, proudly participating in the Siler Presbyterian choir and The Siler Boys quartet. By trade, he was a skilled Project Manager in the IT field until his retirement in 2016.
Bill is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sharon Love; his sisters, Debra Love McGregor and Lisa Love; his brothers, Donald Love (Kim) and Thomas Love (Beth); his daughters, Victoria Baldwin (Brian), Katherine James (Jimmy), and Christine Love; his son, David Love (Maci); and his 7 beloved grandchildren: Jacob, Seth, Zachary, Evelyn, Bennett, Paxton, and Mason.
The family wishes to extend their deep appreciation to the skilled medical staff at the Levine Cancer Center at CMC Main and Atrium Union West, to the Siler Presbyterian Church family, and to friends near and far for their prayers, support, visits, and kind words.
Bill was a patriot, a father, grandfather, devoted husband, deacon, and a steadfast follower of Christ who loved those around him deeply. He will be greatly missed but fondly remembered. A memorial service will be held in his honor at Siler Presbyterian Church on May 24th at 2:00 PM with visitation to follow.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to
The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society or the Siler Presbyterian Music Fund.
