Bill Moody Obituary

The services celebrating and honoring the life of Bill David Moody, 78, of Enid, will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday November 30, 2024 in the Brown-Cummings Chapel with Pastor Charlie Newman officiating. Burial will follow in the Enid Cemetery. Complete cremation care and services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings, A life celebration home.
Bill was born November 5, 1946, to Bill and Maudie Pearl Little Moody in Paris, Texas and passed from this life November 19, 2024 in Enid, Oklahoma.
He was raised and educated in Borger and Honey Grove, Texas. He attended Borger High School. After his schooling he enlisted in the United States Army in 1964 and honorably served in the Army. While fighting in the Vietnam war, he volunteered as a Tunnel Rat. After returning home from Vietnam, he married Carol Ann Buth, on November 11, 1967 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Bill and his family moved back to the Borger area to be close to his mother. During this time, he transitioned out of the Army became a truck driver and began serving in the National Guard. In 1978, the company he was working for transferred him Okeene, Oklahoma, Bill may have changed employers over the years, but being a truck driver, whether short or long haul, was his life's career. He retired from driving in 2010 when he and Carol moved to Enid to be close to the grandkids. He loved his dogs, and camping, he truly enjoyed nature and all animals. He liked watching his old Western shows, drinking his soda, and Sunday drives.
He is survived by his four children, Kelli Looney and husband Mike, Bill Moody Jr. and wife Heather, Scott Moody, and wife Emily, and Corri Denton and husband Joseph; his grandchildren, Chris, Rachel, Coby, Devon, Ethan, Cody, Kyle, Cole, Caden, and Ashton; nine great grandchildren, one sister, Lois Moody, and his life-long friend he considered a sister Lejuanna (Childress) Zimmerman.
He was preceded in death by his wife Carol; his parents Bill and Maudie, his siblings Eloise, Johnny, Buddy, and Carol Lynn, a bonus father figure and brother Leo Childress Sr. and Leo Jr.
Memorials may be made in his honor to the Enid SPCA with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds.
