Bill O'Connor age 89 of Elmhurst passed away on Monday. Born on the Westside of Chicago and resident of Elmhurst for 59 years. Son of the late Jim and Mary Frances (nee McCarthy) O'Connor; Loving Husband of Rosaleen (nee Donlin) for over 65 years; caring Dad of Jim (Mary), Nancy (Jim) Burke, Rosaleen (Jack) Tully, Michael, Mary Frances (Rick) Fowich, Joan (Jason) Fox and the late John (Lori) O'Connor. Best Grandpa of Kimberly (Michael) Gallichio; Brigid (Brent) Miller, Kellie (Cal) Wagner, Shane, Kyle, Justin, Tim, Colin, Molly Rose, Bill, Bradley, Melissa, Michaela, Michael and Brendan. Great Grandpa to Dylan, Luca, Beckham, Berkeley and Maddox. Brother of Joan (Joe) Devereux and the late Jack (Ginny), Mae, Ed (Mary), Kevin (Margie) (Carole) and Kay (Sam) Davis. Amazing Uncle to 44 and friend to many. Bill was a graduate of Resurrection '48, St. Ignatius '52 and Warshburn Trade School '60. He served in the Army with NATO in Versailles, France. Sheet Metal Workers Union #73 for over 40 years. Volunteer at People's Resource Center, Wheaton, for over 20 years. A parishioner of IC Parish for 59 years. A great supporter of ICCP, Cubs, Bears, proud American and a long-time golfer with two holes-in-one. Visitation Friday, April 26, 2024, 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.at Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 South York Road, (1/2 mile North of Saint Charles Road), Elmhurst. Friends and family will meet for a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 134 Arthur Street, Elmhurst. Interment Private.
