Bill Huston Rich

Bill Rich, 85, passed away peacefully at his home in Chatsworth, Georgia, on June 30, 2024.
Bill was born on February 2, 1939, in Dalton, Georgia, to SL and Dollie Pauline Rich. He worked hard as a youth to help support the family. Bill had a successful career in the carpet industry throughout Chatsworth and North Georgia. His efforts in his professional life helped start new companies and propelled him to success in his own life.
Bill married his wife, Sandy, in 1974, and they enjoyed more than fifty years together. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Bill had a passion for country music, racing, golfing, and traveling the world. He was often found on the golf course with Sandy and some of his many friends. He and Sandy traveled the world, journeying throughout places such as the Caribbean and Europe. He was a member of Holly Creek Baptist Church for decades.
Bill was kind, outgoing, direct, and was blessed with a great sense of humor. His spirit and personality had an effect on everyone who met him, and had a profound impact on his friends and family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, SL and Dollie Pauline Rich; brothers, AJ, Selmar, Warren Randal, and Grady Rich; sisters, Mary Lee Massingill, Doshie Wilbanks, Mauline Rich, Violet Jean Whitner, and Bessie McClure.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy Rich; brother, Tom Rich (Rosa); sisters, Edna Adams and Wilma Bradley; children, Debbie Rodgers, Connie Rich (Greg Scott), and Marc Headrick (Maria Bowers-Headrick); grandchildren, Keri Leigh Downey-Weeks (Darren Weeks), Nick Rich (special friend Tiffany and her daughter, Emma Southern), Austin Headrick, Avery Bankston (Noah Bankston); great-grandchildren, Huston Rich, Remi Rich, Gracyn Weeks, and James Bankston. Bill also had many, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Bill Huston Rich will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. from the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Cochran officiating. Interment will follow at Murray Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
