Billie G. “Bill” Dodd, a cherished resident of Cuba, Missouri, was born on August 31, 1946, in Sullivan, Missouri, to William R. and Mary (Ruckman) Dodd, Sr. He passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, at the Missouri Veterans Home in St. James, at the age of 79.
Bill served his country with honor in the United States Navy, a commitment that reflected his character and dedication. Throughout his life, he pursued a fulfilling career as a vending machine and arcade repairman. Known for his playful spirit, Bill brought joy to those around him as a jokester. He found great pleasure in fishing, tinkering in his shed on various motors, and proudly earned the title of “Mr. Fix It.”
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, his brother Ernest Dodd, his sister Judy (Jim) Gibbs, as well as dear brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, including Bob Asher, Bonnie Jones, Ronnie Asher, Johnny Asher, Louise Soliz, Billy Asher, and Randy Asher.
Left to honor and remember his legacy are his loving wife, Linda Dodd, of Cuba; two children, Melissa (William) Fischer of Wentzville and John (Heather) Dodd of Jefferson City; and four grandchildren, Ashley (Eric) Gaw, Ariana (Daniel) Roy, Nolan Dodd, and Ella Dodd. one 'adopted' grandson Garrett Goerger of Cuba. He is further survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Fritz Asher of Steelville, Wanda McMillen of Texas, Judy (Ron) Caron of Steelville, Tina Asher of Springfield, Cathy (Brian) Tucker of Salem, and Karen (Rob) Sikes of Steelville, along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many friends.
In accordance with his wishes, Bill will be cremated. A celebration of his life will take place on Sunday, November 2, 2025, 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Assembly Church of God, located at 572 Fleenor Rd., with Pastor Terry Hogan officiating. Military honors will conclude the service.
Inurnment will be held in the spring of 2026 at Ft. Leonard Wood State Veterans Cemetery in Waynesville, Missouri.
