Billie Jean Fry went to be with the Lord on July 20, 2025, at Bluebonnet Rehab in Ennis, Texas. She was born on September 20, 1927, in Lewisville, Texas. She was the daughter of Pearlie Stockard and Thelma (Stover) Stockard. She married Billy Fry on September 25, 1949.
She graduated from Sunset High School in Dallas. Her first job after graduating college was an elevator operator in downtown Dallas.
She faithfully attended First Baptist Church of Waxahachie where she taught Sunday School. She loved telling people about Jesus. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who called her Meme.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, her parents, and sister Gloria Don Potts.
She is survived by two sons: Dan Fry and his wife Elaine and David Fry and his wife Rhonda all of Waxahachie; one daughter, Kathy Fry Lamb and her husband Jerry of Midlothian; five grandchildren: Matt and Kati Fry of Blue Springs, MO; Chase and Ines Fry; Katlyn Fry; Lindsey Fry; and Justin and Hannah Leaser, all of Waxahachie; eighteen great-grandchildren and one nephew, Don Potts and wife Brenda of Garland, Texas.
Visitation with the family will be on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The graveside service will be at DFW National Cemetery on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 9:30 a.m.
Her grandson, Rev. Matt Fry, will be officiating the service.
