Billie Haub Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by YANDA & SON FUNERAL HOME - YUKON on Sep. 13, 2025.
Billie Colleen Barney Haub was born on a farm in Oakwood, Oklahoma on August 20, 1940. She was the daughter of Ward and Grace Barney. She was the youngest of 6 daughters. Billie went on to marry the love of her life Larry Dean Haub on November 6, 1966. As they tell the story, it was love at first sight when they met. Larry adopted her two beloved children Terry and Teresa, and they settled in Weatherford, Oklahoma. They then welcomed two more children, Troy and Tamara into the world.

Larry joined the Oklahoma National Guard in 1965 and Billie was his greatest supporter and motivator throughout his career. She took her role as military wife very seriously. She was the first woman in Oklahoma to start a family support group, and she went on to be the President of the Oklahoma National Guard Women's Association chapter. Larry led the 158th Field Artillery Battalion in Desert Storm in 1990 and he was very proud of how Billie stepped in and did what needed to be done to support all the families at home. She was recognized for her service with the Molly Pitcher Award in 1991. The Artillery Order of Molly Pitcher is bestowed by the U.S. Field Artillery Association to recognize wives who have voluntarily contributed in a significant way to the improvement of the U.S. Field Artillery Community. The award is named after Molly Pitcher who distinguished herself during the American revolutionary war.

Billie started her most favorite role as Grandma on January 3, 1980 with the birth of her oldest granddaughter Krystal. She went on to be blessed with 7 grandchildren Krystal, Taylor, Chace, Docker, Declan, Ella and Ava. No two relationships with her grandchildren were the same but rest assured she loved each one dearly for exactly who they were and she prayed for them daily. She was then delighted to take on the role of Great Grandma with the arrival of Lyric and Asia. Billie loved football but she really had a passion for the New England Patriots and Tom Brady. She loved to garden and quilt but her best days were on the back porch chasing turtles, making up games for grandkids to play and listening to everything from Uptown Funk to Elvis. She loved to dance and was always the life of the party.

Billie was a member of Oakwood Christian Church in Oakwood and Southwestern Christian Church in Weatherford. Later in life she found a church family at Town & Country Christian Church in Yukon, Oklahoma. In her time there she was able to deepen her relationship with Christ.

Billie was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2023 and the last few years have been a trial for her and Larry. They spent most days together and he was her one-on-one caregiver. She truly thought he was the best and loved him beyond words. She went to be with Jesus on September 11, 2025 and her wings have been restored. She is dancing with Jesus, her Mom Grace, and her daughter Teresa. We have no doubt that her sisters are showing her the way around heaven.

Billie was preceded in death by her parents Ward & Grace Barney, daughter Teresa Jean Haub, her sisters Leota, Bernice, Jean, Jeneva and Ada Mae. She is survived by her husband Larry, her son Terry, her son Troy and wife Jill, her daughter Tamara and her beloved Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, Sept 16, 2025 at Town & Country Christian Church, 2200 Cornwell Drive, Yukon OK at 10 am, with the committal following at 2 pm at the Ft. Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, OK.
