Billie Jean Montgomery, age 87, of Mineral Wells, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025. She was born on February 9, 1938, in De Queen, Arkansas, to Toni Lee Kelly and Nelson Ralls, and was lovingly raised by her mother and stepfather, Ben Leal.

Billie Jean was known for her infectious laugh and the way she could light up a room just by being herself. She was kind, loving and tender-hearted with just the right touch of feistiness that made her truly unforgettable. Most of the time, she was cheerful and full of joy — though her competitive side always came out if she was losing a game. Above all, Billie Jean was a fantastic mother. She was great with money, a great secret keeper, and loved running around with her friends; she was someone who would do absolutely anything for her children. We couldn’t have asked for a better mama. Her feistiness, laughter, and lively spirit will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing.

Billie Jean Montgomery was preceded in death by her beloved son, Guy Nelson Montgomery; her grandson, Rush Lee Montgomery; her parents, Toni Lee Kelly and Nelson Ralls; her stepfather, Ben Leal; and her two sisters, Janette Daniels and Oma Kelly.

Her devoted children survive her: Linda Windham Flippo and her husband, Mark Flippo; Julie Montgomery Stone; Tammie Kittrell and her husband, Kevin Kittrell.

Billie Jean’s legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren:

Matt Windham; Corey Windham and his wife, Misti Windham; Jay Windham; Guy Nelson Montgomery Jr.; Rebekah Barakat and her husband, Alex Barakat; Brady Tanner and his wife, Liz Tanner; Kenze Holman and her husband, Ty Holman; and Lexze Tanner.

She was also blessed with her great-grandchildren: Brilee Windham, Jaden Windham, Hattie Windham, Jameson Windham, Madilyn Montgomery, Abby and Gabby Barakat, Hollis Holman, Kaden Tanner, and Zane Tanner.
