Billie Ruth Nugent

1948 - 2024

Billie Ruth Nugent, cherished wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at the age of 76. Born on Saturday, July 24, 1948, in Monroe, Louisiana, Billie was a woman of strength, kindness, and compassion. After graduating from Zachary High School, she furthered her studies at Southeastern Louisiana University. Her professional journey led her to a successful career at EFCU Financial, where she excelled as a dedicated branch manager. An active member of Magnolia Methodist Church, Billie's dedication to her faith was unwavering. She enjoyed spending her free time bowling, and her love for animals led her to become involved in animal rescue efforts. Billie is preceded in death by her mother Bernice Redding Tucker, and her sister Peggy J. Fogleman. She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Ronnie Nugent, her daughter Nikki Tinsley, her son Neale Nugent (Candace Montgomery and her daughter Taylor), and her granddaughter Kylie Tinsley. Billie is also survived by her long-term best friends Corliss Satterfeal and Monica Peters; her furbabies Taz and Indy; and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. We would like to invite all who knew and loved Billie to join us as we commemorate her life. A visitation will be held in her honor on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, from 12:30 pm until 2:30 pm at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge.
