Billie E Poteet

Baldwyn- Billie Copeland Poteet, age 93, passed away on Wednesday August 6, 2025 at the Baldwyn Nursing Facility. She was born April 25, 1932, to Earl and Sarah Eleanor Copeland. Billie Lived most of her life in Baldwyn but resided a few years in Northern Virginia, where she was employed at American Security and Trust Co. in Washington, D.C. and Bank of Fairfax in Fairfax, Virginia. She moved back to Baldwyn and went to work at Central Service in Tupelo, where she retired after 27 years. She enjoyed working, traveling, and admiring the many flowers and birds in her backyard, especially the doves. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Baldwyn.
Services will be Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Waters Funeral Home with Dr. Terry Cutrer officiating. Burial will be in Prentiss Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include a daughter, Kim Sullivan, and Clayton of Saltillo. One son, Tim Poteet of Booneville, one brother, Bobby Copeland of Alabama, and one granddaughter, Lexie Sullivan of Saltillo.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Wallis, Robert Magers, Roger Grissom, and Billy Hancock.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Eleanor Copeland, her husband of 47 years, Ed Poteet, and three sisters, Sarah Miller, Margaret Butler, and Bettye Ryder.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 1-3 pm at Waters Funeral Home.
