Cimi Poteet Obituary

Beloved guinea pig companion of 5½ years, of Lima, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025, at Amanda Animal Hospital in Spencerville, Ohio. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Born on March 1, 2020, Cimi joined the Poteet family on May 3, 2020, when Camden-who adored the character of Norman, the guinea pig from The Secret Life of Pets-used his sixth birthday money to bring her home, along with her cage and supplies. Two weeks later, on May 16, 2020, the family welcomed Haley, a kitten born only days after Cimi. The two grew up side by side and formed an inseparable bond. Haley often seemed like a pet who had a pet of his own to care for, and their friendship became one of the sweetest parts of home life.
Cimi lived a gentle life filled with love and routine. She delighted in sunny days spent outdoors nibbling on fresh grass and enjoyed her favorite foods-especially Romaine lettuce and carrots. Each evening, she "wheeked" for her leafy greens, a squeal that became part of the household rhythm.
She is survived by her devoted family: Krista Richardson, Vance Poteet, and Camden Poteet, along with her feline companions Haley, Oliver, and Calista. She was preceded in death by other cherished pets who came before her.
Cimi was deeply loved and will be dearly missed. She was the best little guinea pig and brought joy to everyone who knew her!
