Billie Jean Renfrow Simpson

Smithfield – Billie Jean Renfrow Simpson, "Mama Bill," age 91, passed away into eternity on Saturday September 7, 2024 at her home in Smithfield. she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Earl Simpson and a son in law, Jerel Hodge.
The family will receive visitors at Parrish Funeral Home on Wednesday September 11, 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:20 PM. A graveside service will follow the visitation on Wednesday in Hills of the Neuse Memory Garden at 2:30 PM.
She is survived by her daughters, Connie Putnam, and husband Marshall of Clayton, Sue Hodge of Smithfield; grandchildren, Amy Hornbuckle and husband Jim, Travis Hodge and wife Crystal, Andrea Furr and husband Brad, Vickie Wall, and husband Stuart; 5 great grandchildren.
Billie loved gardening and having Sunday dinners with her family. She was an avid listener of Hayes Barton on Sundays. She was a woman of warmth, kindness, and courage. She was a loving wife who stood by her husband's side through ups and downs. She was a constant source of love and encouragement for her children. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Stan Watson for his exceptional care and compassion. She also received tender loving care from her primary care givers Lisa and Brandy. In addition, we want to recognize previous care givers Cathy and April. The family would also like to thank Gentiva Hospice for their service and care for Billie.
