Billie Sandegren Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Schroeder-Stark-Welin Funeral Home - Boone on Jan. 11, 2024.
Billie Jeanne Sandegren was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and
great-grandmother. She was reunited with her Lord and Savior on January 5, 2024.
Billie was born on August 17, 1933, in Des Moines, IA. After graduating from East High School in Des Moines in 1951, she attended Broadlawns Nursing School to become a registered nurse in 1954. While pursuing her degree, she married her husband, Richard, on December 18, 1953. Together, they had three children: Steve, Lynne, and Jeff.
After her career as a nurse, Billie became a drapery home interior seamstress and established her own business for many years. Billie loved reading, cooking, and baking and was a dedicated baseball fan rooting for the Chicago Cubs. She and Richard spent most of their married life near Madrid, IA, until they moved to Boone, IA, in 1994. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Boone. Billie's love of knitting, quilting, and sewing inspired her to aid in the creation of the Prayer Shawl Ministry.
Billie is preceded in death by her husband, Richard; parents, Lucile and Cecil Coffman; and brothers, David Coffman, Leonard Coffman, and Gene Coffman. She is survived by her children, Steve (Connie) Sandegren, Lynne Sandegren, and Jeff (Deanna) Sandegren; grandchildren, Eric (Sherrie) Sandegren, Jason (Jonna) Sandegren, Megan Sandegren, Zach (Emily) Carlyle, and Justin (Alexi) Carlyle;
great-grandchildren, Gannon, Elin, Mckynlee, and Tyler; brother, Duane (Deb) Coffman; sisters-in-law, Alicia Coffman, Donna Sandegren, and Lois Leichsenring; and brother-in-law, Jim (Sue) Sandegren.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024, at the First United Methodist Church in Boone at 10:00 a.m. A memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by a luncheon. An interment service will then take place at Lawn Hill Cemetery near Stanhope, IA.
For those unable to attend the funeral service, the service will be live-streamed on the Schroeder-Stark-Welin Funeral Home Facebook page. It can be accessed at: https://www.facebook.com/SchroederStarkWelin
