Billie Sanders Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 27, 2025.
Billie Mae Sanders (née McLaughlin), age 85, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025, in Fresno, California.

Born on March 2, 1940, in Los Angeles, California, Billie grew up with a strong sense of family and a vibrant spirit that would carry her through a life filled with dedication, laughter, and love. She was the daughter of William (Bill) and Berniece McLaughlin and shared her early years with her sisters Kathy McLaughlin and Kay Niles.

Billie built a career she took great pride in as an accountant. Her professional journey included work with organizations such as California-Hawaii Elks, Channel 24, and Conditioned Air. Alongside her husband Larry Sanders, she also co-owned a KOA park in Colorado-an endeavor that reflected their shared love for travel and hospitality.

Her marriage to Larry was marked by deep companionship and joy. Together they found happiness in the simple pleasures of life: camping under open skies, taking long scenic drives, and enjoying each other's company wherever the road led them. Billie also cherished time spent at the theater with her family-moments that brought her both cultural delight and treasured memories.

Known for her sharp wit and infectious humor, Billie brought laughter into the lives of those around her. Whether sharing stories or simply being present in everyday moments, she had a way of making people smile.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter and son-in-law Gail and Bob Kaufmann; her son and daughter-in-law Neil and Denise Stockton; her stepson and daughter-in-law Scott and Mary Sanders; and her stepdaughter-in-law Chris Sanders. She is also survived by her sister Kathy McLaughlin as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry forward her legacy of warmth and humor.

Billie was preceded in death by her beloved husband Larry Sanders; her parents William Jennings and Berniece McLaughlin; and her sister Kay Niles and her stepson Dale Sanders.

May Billie Mae Sanders' memory bring comfort to all who knew her. A Memorial Service will be held on September 11, 2025, from 05:00 PM to 07:00 PM at Clovis Funeral Chapel 1302 Clovis Ave
