Billie F. Slagle, 79, a cherished soul whose life was marked by dedication, warmth, and a zest for simple joys, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 14, 2026, in Gaylord. Born on July 23, 1946, in Charlevoix, she grew into a woman whose kindness and gentle spirit touched all who knew her.
Billie devoted much of her life to her work at K-Byte/Reptron in the Assembly Department. She approached her career with the same quiet strength and attentiveness that defined her character, earning the respect of those around her.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Billie found deep happiness in the beauty of the outdoors and the joy of creation. Camping trips allowed her to immerse herself in nature's tranquility, while gardening was her way of nurturing life's growth and renewal. Her fingers were often busy with crocheting, crafting intricate patterns that reflected her patience and creativity. Even in moments of leisure, she enjoyed the thrill and camaraderie found in visiting the casino, where her spirited presence was warmly welcomed.
Though the world may feel a little dimmer without her light, the memories of Billie's laugh, her steadfast kindness, and her enduring love for life remain firmly planted in the hearts of those who shared her journey. Born in Charlevoix and having called Gaylord home for many years, her roots and legacy will continue to thrive in the places she held dear.
