Billie Jane Washington, a resident of Grove, Oklahoma, passed away at her home on Monday, September 29, 2025. Billie was born in Miami, Oklahoma, on September 1, 1943, to Hurman and Will Ella (Follis) Brown. She graduated from Fairland High School with the class of 1963. She married David Washington in Miami in 1985. Together they spent forty wonderful years together. In her younger years Billie worked as a cook in restaurants. She then went to work for Simmons where she put in twenty-five years. When she wasn't working, she enjoyed cooking, fishing, and camping. She enjoyed cooking so much she would often take food that she prepared to work with her at the processing plant to share with her fellow coworkers. Mrs. Washington is preceded in passing by her parents, Hurman and Will Ella Brown. She is survived by her husband, David Washington, children, Charles Blalock of Attwood, Kansas, and Tracey Cousins of Fairland, Oklahoma, siblings, Katheryn Speer of Wyandotte, David Brown of Grove, Roxanna Henson of Fairland, Buddy Brown of Vinita, and Gale brown of Grove. She is also grandmother to Ashley, Alex, Josh, Sam, and ten great grandchildren, Allan, Owen, Daniel, Tristan, Aiden, Adrian, Ava, Carter, Emmerson, and Madison. There will be a visitation for Mrs. Washington from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami. There will be a memorial service for Mrs. Washington at 3:00 P.M. on Thursday October 2, 2025 at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service Chapel.
