Billy R. Barbour

Billy Ray Barbour, 87, of Sanford passed away on Monday April 29, 2024.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday (5/4/24) at Hillview Christian Assembly at 2pm. The family will receive friends starting at 1pm before the service at the church.

Mr. Barbour was born a son of the late Willie Alger Barbour Sr. and Pauline Lanning Barbour. He loved music and would sing and play guitar with his friends and church family. He enjoyed racing, fishing, working in his yard and feeding his rotund squirrels. Mostly he loved and cherished his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Dorothy Barbour; daughter Shannon Goodwin; son-in-law Ronald Goodwin; grandson Wyatt Goodwin; brothers W. A. Dub Barbour Jr., and Bobby Barbour; sister Margie Dean; and sister-in-law Joyce Barbour.

He is survived by his wife Annette Barbour; children James Jimbo Barbour, Glen Byrd, and Lee Byrd (Amy); grandchildren Ian Goodwin, Nathan Byrd, Jordan Byrd, Rachel Byrd, and Brittany Strunks; great grandchild Brayden Strunks; sisters Rose Hause (Floyd), and Mary Rogers; and sister-in-law Mary Garner Barbour.
