Billy Don Black, age 84, passed away May 13, 2025, at Oakley Place in Topeka, Kansas. He was born May 13, 1941, to Marion and Iva Black in Cassville, Missouri.
Surviving are his wife, Linda of Topeka, Kansas; daughter, Sherry Attkisson (Kenny) of Osage City, Kansas; granddaughters, Stevie Walborn (Michael Dibben) and Samantha Huber (Chris); great granddaughter, Sarah Huber; brothers, Bobby Black (Sheila) of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and Randy Black of Cassville, Missouri, and many nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by siblings, Marjorie Black, Mary Jones, Bonnie Hankins, Lavern Black, and Glen Black.
Bill attended Black School and Exeter High School. He attended Merle's Chapel in Cassville and was baptized in Flat Creek. Bill served in the United States Air Force from 1962 until 1965. He married Juanita Morgan and they had a daughter, Sherry in 1963. They later divorced. After moving to Osage City, Bill and his brother Glen worked at Osage Products/Hallmark for several years. Bill ended his career as a Purchasing Agent for Santa Fe Railway where he met his wife, Linda. They would have celebrated 43 years of marriage on May 24, 2025. After retirement they moved to Eagle Rock, Missouri, and enjoyed 4 years of lake life before returning to Topeka. Per Bill's wishes he was cremated.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. June 21, 2025 at Pilant Cemetery in Cassville, Missouri, casual dress is requested.
