Billy J. Booker, age 91, passed away on December 19, 2024 in New Bern, North Carolina. Born September 18, 1933 in Greene County, he was the son of Bertie and Elizabeth Booker. Bill served in the US Army from 1955- 1957 as a SP5 in munitions. He then went on to work at Raytheon and Accurate Machine Products. Bill enjoyed sports, fishing, gardening and being with his family. He will be remembered as a kindhearted man who was devoted to his family, friends, church, and community.
He is preceded in death by his parents Bertie and Elizabeth Booker, his siblings Paul Booker, Betty Crook, Audra Booker, Ginger Cutshall and his wife Ann Booker, who passed on September 19, 2018. Bill and Ann shared 56 years of marriage and have been reunited after 6 years apart.
He is survived by two sisters, Joyce Reynolds and Joan Broyles, as well as two children, Carter Booker (Suzie) and Elizabeth Johnson. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Ashley Morton (Forrest), Kate Booker, Molly Booker, Corydon Johnson, Jack Booker, and Laura Johnson Corrado (Garrett), as well as one great grandchild Caroline Morton.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 22, 2024 from 1:00-2:00 pm followed by the service at 2:00 pm at Morris Baker Funeral Home at 2001 E Oakland Ave, Johnson City, Tennessee.
