IN LOVING MEMORY
Billy Wayne Buskirk
Jul 24 1947 - Jan 07 2026 Jan 07 2026
"As a father has compassion on his children. So, the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him." – Psalm 103.13
Billy Wayne Buskirk, age 78, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, surrounded by his loving family in
McKinney, Texas.
It is difficult to put into words the life of a man who meant so much to so many. Billy was a man of quiet strength, steady character, and deep generosity. Of all the qualities that defined him, his unconditional love for his family stood above the rest. Born on July 24, 1947, to Richard Mills and Dorthy Fears, Billy lived a life marked by kindness, humility, and a willingness to help anyone in need. He would give the shirt off his back without hesitation, never seeking recognition – simply doing what he felt was right.
In 1965, Billy married Judy Brock, and together they began a journey that would span more than six decades. Married at a very young age, they grew into adulthood side by side-learning, working, and building a life one step at a time. Their marriage was a partnership, shaped by laughter and tears, hard work, and perseverance. Through every challenge and every joy, they remained grounded in love, commitment, and shared devotion to their family.
By trade Billy was a roofer. In 1976, he opened his own roofing business, building it into a successful livelihood through dedication, integrity, and tireless effort. He took great pride in providing for his family and serving others, retiring five years ago after a long and fulfilling career.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Mills and Dorthy Fears, his parents-in-law; 2 grandchildren; 3 great- grandchildren; a son-in-law, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and other loved ones, all of whom welcomed him home.
Family was the center of Billy's world. He was a devoted father to David, William, Janice and Angie; a proud grandfather to Coby, Kimberly, Seth, Ople, Donny, Victoria, Dillon, Billy Michael, Taylor, Faith, Jacob and Sydney along with their spouses and significant others, a loving great-grandfather to Carter, Anson, Ryder, Nikolle, Silas, Donald, Noelle, Dorothy, Charlotte, Bristol, Opie, Hattie, Barrett, Graylynn, Alec, William, Vivian, Hank, Reece, Margaret, Elias, Rowen, Noah and baby Gilmore, due in February. He is also survived by his sisters and brother, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a son-in-law, all of whom he loved deeply.
Billy's life was defined by generosity, faith, and love. He will be remembered for his steady presence, his compassionate heart, and the way he always put his family first. We say farewell to a man whose life touched many and whose memory will forever bless our lives.
The family will welcome guests at a visitation from 2-4PM, Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Turrentine Jackson Morrow Funeral Home, 701 North Cedar Street,
