Long-time resident of Pineville, WV, Billy Joe Buzzo, 78 passed away Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010, following a long illness.
Mr. Buzzo started the first private ambulance service in southern West Virginia which brought him to Wyoming County in 1969. After this he went into many ventures which included coal, trucking, heavy machines, restaurants, hotels and this carried into his greatest love of all, real estate. He turned his street knowledge and hard-knocks youth into a legacy that he leaves to his children and great-grandchildren. His hobbies included auctions, playing cards, poker machines and making money. His motto was “always take care of your family.�
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Joe Buzzo and Cressie Mullens Buzzo of Granville; a brother, John Buzzo and his wife, Violet, of Granville; and a brother-in-law, Randolph Rash of Cleveland, Ohio.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Oleta R. Bliss Buzzo and his children and grandchildren as follows: son, Bill Buzzo Jr. and his wife, Dana, of Bluefield and children, Debbie and Russell Fasnacht, Shane Buzzo, Tiffany and Erin Smeltzer, Derek Buzzo, BJ Buzzo, Megan Buzzo and Lindsay Buzzo; son, Anthony Buzzo and his wife, Valerie, of Bluefield, and children, Misty Tomlinson, Khrystal Roberts, Anthony W.�TJ� Buzzo Jr., Justin Shay Buzzo, Shawn Buzzo; son, Bobby Smyth and his wife, Jan, of Travelers Rest, SC, and children, Shonna Whitley, Khristina and Steve Gonzalez and Joseph and Chistina Smyth; daughter, Connie Reinacher of Pineville and children, Rachel and Jessica Reinacher; daughter, Cathy Smyth of Pineville; son, Jason Smyth of Pineville and children, Christina, Ginger, Ashton and Miken Smyth; son, Carl Smyth and his wife, Lynn, of Statesville, NC, and children, Natasha and Tom Marko, and Sashay Smyth; daughter, Linda McSpadden of Lake Worth, Fla. and children, Russell McSpadden; daughter, Ramona Frey and her husband, Kip, of Pineville and children, Kaitlin and Douglas “DJ� Frey; daughter, Rebecca Lovejoy and her husband, Jeff, of Pineville and children, Curtis Lovejoy and Sara Morgan, Sam, Jordan, Gracie and Bella Lovejoy; son, Frank Buzzo and his wife, Barbie, of Cocoa, Fla., and children, Alicia and John French, Frank Jr. and Jenna Buzzo, Kaelynn and Vinnie Buzzo, and Lisa and Brett Richardson; son, Steve Buzzo and his wife, Susan, of Chicago, Ill. and children, Samantha, Steven and Sabrina Buzzo; son, Mike Buzzo and his wife, Ann, of Chicago, Il. And children, Patrick, Maggie and Kate Buzzo; son, Johnny Buzzo of Chicago, Ill. and children, Jessica and Angelica Buzzo; son, Billy Buzzo of Chicago, Ill.; daughter, Jessica Buzzo, of Chicago, Ill. and children, Kathy and Tiffany Gyselinck; daughter, Pam Harris, formerly of Chicago, Ill.; daughter, Brenda Watson of Bluefield; and son, Michael Buzzo of Florida.
He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Winter Whitley, Cadence Gonzalez, Ashley and Austin Tomlinson, Kirstin and Kaitlyn Roberts, Ariana Kanhoye, Ashlynn Morris, Alexander Smyth, Johnny French, Hailey Buzzo, Chloe, Darian and Lily Buzzo; his brothers, Frank Buzzo and his wife, Shirley, of Morgantown, Otis Ted Buzzo and his wife, Lillian of Granville and Tokey Buzzo and his wife, Mary, of Morgantown; his sisters, Daisy Buzzo and Johnny G. of Ohio, Mary Jane Piskac and her husband, Tommy, of Florida, and Patty Jean Buzzo Walker and her husband, Carl, Martha Rash and Annie Shannon, all of Morgantown.
