Billy Carter

William "Billy" Carter, Jr., at the age of 54, peacefully entered eternal life on Monday, March 2, 2026, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital-Somerset in Somerville, New Jersey. He was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, as the son of the late William and Edith (née McBride) Carter. Following the death of his parents in 2005, Billy lived in a group home organized by The Arc of Essex County. Shortly after, he became a resident of Somerville in group homes provided by The Center for Family Support.

Billy attended John F. Kennedy School in Newark, graduating with the Class of 1992. He found joy in attending The Center for Family Support Day Programs in Hillsborough, New Jersey. Billy was adored by all who encountered him there. He was genuinely a delightful individual to be around and connect with.

Billy is survived by the staff, management, and friends of The Center for Family Support especially their manager, Kennedy.

Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, located at 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 4-6 p.m. A graveside service will take place at Elmwood Cemetery, located at 425 Georges Road, North Brunswick, NJ 08902 on Monday, March 9 at 12:00 p.m.
