Billy Lee Codwise Jr

Dunn - Billy Lee Codwise, Jr., 47, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, October 13, 2025. He was born in Orange County to the late Billy Lee Codwise, Sr. and is survived by his mother, Linda Joyce Lunceford and stepfather Huan Nguyen.
Billy cared for and loved his family deeply. They were everything to him, and he took pride in being there for them in his own steady way.
Billy was known for his lifelong passion for cars and drag racing, spending countless weekends at the track with friends and family. You could always find him building engines in his garage or cheering on others from the sidelines. He found joy in working with his hands, sharing his knowledge, and helping anyone who needed a hand-or a part.
At home, Billy loved spending time with his dogs, Callie and Harley, who were constant companions who brought him great comfort and happiness. He also cherished the time he spent with close friends who became like family, sharing laughter, long talks, and late nights in the garage or at the racetrack. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Billy is survived by his wife, Paula Codwise, and daughters Delaney Oliveros (Tommy), Madalyn Clark (Elijah), Hailey Priddy (Joe), Kristin Codwise and Elexis Codwise. He is also survived by his sister, Nora Codwise; brothers John Codwise (Bill) and Eric Nguyen (Jenny); nieces Angel Preston (Mark), Shelby Ramos Rodriguez (Guillermo), and Jordan Soper-Matte; and nephews Landon Morris (Joshua) and Logan Nguyen. Billy is also survived by many beloved grandchildren, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family will have a visitation from 11:00 to 1:00 at Clements Funeral Home in Durham on Thursday, October 16th, 2025. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm in Clements Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
