Billy Jan Cogdill of Morristown, passed away July 3, 2024, born September 18, 1943 in Bellevue Iowa.
He was a member of Swannsylvania Baptist Church of Dandridge. He loved Gospel music, a legacy from his parents. He also participated in various quartets, two semi-professional, recorded and backup work included. He was a board member of Sertoma Club. A Chaplin of Newport Jaycees, and V.P. of Local 464. He loved to travel with his wife, the love of his life, "Mil." He loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Effie Cogdill; brother, Ronny L. Cogdill; and daughter, Carsa Gayle Cogdill.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mildred Cogdill; children, Jana (Gary), Russell (Christie), Jason (DeeDee) and Tasha Crider; four grandchildren, Lindsey, Tyler, Kobe and Jordan; three great-grandchildren, Taelyr, Everli and Lorelai.
The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Manes Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Tom Mooty and Rev. Mike Hensley officiating in the Manes Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery.
