Billy Laverne Daniel

Billy Laverne Daniel, age 95, of Gordo, AL died January 21, 2026 at his residence. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday, January 23, 2026 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Shawn McDaniel officiating. Burial will be in Gordo City Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Edith Joyce Lyles Daniel; his parents; brother, Bobby Reed Daniel and nephew, Barry Reed Daniel.
Survivors include his son, Neil Laverne Daniel of Gordo; brother, Donald Kenneth Daniel of Gordo; granddaughter, Torey Lynn Estes (Cody Dale) and four great-grandchildren, Landon Trace Acker, Mason Cade Acker, Allie Presley Estes and Creek Mason Estes.
Billy was born October 26, 1930 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to the late Kinnie Daniel and Myrtle E. Elledge Daniel. He was a graduate of Gordo High School Class of 1949, a retired employee of Housel Hardware with 36 years of service and a veteran of the United States Army. Billy was also the owner and operator of Daniel Wrecker/Towing Service.
