Billy Grant Sr. Obituary

Billy Joe Grant, Sr., 62, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, in Eastman, Georgia. Born in Swainsboro on January 2, 1963, Billy was the son of Bill Grant and the late Cozette Roberson.

Billy spent most of his life in Johnson County before moving to Eastman in 2016. He attended Johnson County High School and worked for many years as a plumber and in construction. He retired in 2012 due to health issues but remained as hardworking and independent as ever.

Billy was the kind of man who never met a stranger. His heart for others, sense of humor, and generosity made him someone everyone was proud to know. Helping people was his love language, and his strength and kindness left a lasting mark on everyone around him.

He loved sports of all kinds and could tell you the score of nearly every high school football game in the area. NASCAR, racing, and classic cowboy shows — especially Gunsmoke — were his favorites.

Above all, Billy loved his family. He was a proud father and grandfather who cherished every moment spent with them.

Billy is survived by his father, Bill Grant; one brother, Keith Grant; his children Christie Woodcock (Johnny), Billy Joe Grant Jr., Rebecca Grant, Haley Turner (Austin), Heather Waters, Gaige Bryan, Jesse Bryan, Bella Grant, and Lukas Grant; his beloved grandchildren Thomas, Heaven, Makayla, Mariah, Ava, Alison, Brantley, Ensleigh, and Kamdyn; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cozette Roberson; stepfather, Sj Roberson; and one brother, Tim Grant; 2 twin grandsons, Bentlee Grant, Braiden Grant.

Billy will be remembered for his love, independence, and the countless ways he helped and cared for others. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

Funeral Service will be Sunday, November 9, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Mr. Andy Logue officiating.

The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to services.
