Billy Groce Obituary

On Dec. 8, 1933, the most loving, caring, generous man came into the world at home in Willis, Texas. He met and married his true love and heart Joy Sapp; there they started their lives of joyful adventures. He started his work as a nurseryman, in the family business. Leaving the nursery business to go to the US Postal Service as a rural route carrier. He was a friend to everyone, not just co-workers, he included the people on his routes as friends. Always going the extra mile to check on them to make sure they were ok and had everything they needed. When he retired from the postal service and the love of his live life enjoyed camping and traveling together with their travel trailer. Helping everyone and anyone in need. He was a plumber, electrician, auto mechanic and TV repairs. All in the days before you tube. He was a jack of all trades and a master of all. He was always a phone call away to help anyone. A few places he and Joy enjoyed traveling to were Nashville TN, Tyler Texas Rose Parade, Canton TX, camping with family in Trinity Texas. He left this earth on Oct. 3, 2022, after a long illness. He is now healed and whole walking the streets of gold with our Lord and Savior. He is preceded in his heavenly reward by his parents W.A. (papa) and Sally Vera Groce (mima), twin infant brothers, Brother Edgar (Bubba) Groce, Sister Ellen (sis) Johnston, sisters in law Jennie V German, Mary Sapp, Brother-in-law Gene Sapp, Son in law Paul Ward, grandchildren Joey Groce and Austin Groce. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years Joy Groce. Children Andy (Bonnie) Groce, Cheryl (Richard) King. Grandchildren Jennifer (Adam) Ruyle, Jessica (Sgt. Cale) Fulton, Jason (Whitney) Ward, Jonathon Ward, Nikki (Julian) Cercy, Ashley (Skeeter) Redus, Hunter Groce. Great Grandchildren Jackie Ruyle, Jordan Ruyle, Aydan Ruyle, Wesley Fulton, Barrett Fulton. Arriving soon Jett Redus, and Trinity Cercey. Pallbearers - Adam Ruyle, Jonathon Ward, Jason Ward, Hunter Groce, Skeeter Redus, and Julian Cercey. Honorary Pallbearers - Sgt. Cale Fulton of the US Army. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff and nurses in ER and ICU at HCA Conroe Hospital. Dr. Pierre Khoury and staff, Dr. Timothy Casprson and staff, Dr. Syed Zaidi and staff, Dr. T. Gordy Alam and staff, Dr. Ashesh Desair and staff, Fr. Hussan yamani and staff, and Dr. Muhammad Quamar. Always enjoyed visiting with Billy Joe at family gatherings. He was always upbeat and with a great sense of humor. We would talk about political news, family activities, and work experiences. I always looked forward to seeing him and look forward to visiting with him again in a few years. Best wishes to Joy, Andy, the entire family.
