Billy Howell, a beloved husband, father, veteran, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2025, at the age of 78, in Fort Morgan, Colorado.

Born on March 18, 1947, Billy lived a life full of dedication, curiosity, and humor. He proudly served in the United States Army and later dedicated his career to engineering at the Cargill beef plant. His innovative spirit was evident in the many systems he designed to improve and automate plant operations-always looking for a better way to get the job done. Inventing wasn't just part of his job; it was his passion.

At home, Billy could often be found under the hood of a car, working with the same precision and joy he brought to his professional life. He had a deep love for cars and spent countless hours restoring, tinkering, and perfecting them. But perhaps what friends and family will remember most is his sharp wit and infectious sense of humor. Billy was a true jokester, always ready with a clever remark or a funny story to lighten the mood. He brought laughter and warmth into every room he entered.

Billy is survived by his loving wife, Suzanne Howell, their three sons: Russell Howell, Billy Howell, and Rusty Howell, his stepson: Jay Kennel, their four grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. His legacy lives on not only in the machines he helped build or the cars he brought back to life, but most importantly, in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A celebration of Billy's life will be held in Fort Morgan, with details to be shared with family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Billy's memory by sharing a joke, fixing something that's broken, or simply spending time with the ones you love.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
