Billy Ray Johnson

Billy Ray Johnson, 64, of Cookeville, TN and formerly of Adolphus, KY passed away Monday, March 2, 2026, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. The Scottsville, KY native was a former employee of Dollar General. Billy was saved in 1993 under a tree and later baptized in 2001 at Glory Way Missionary Baptist Church in Westmoreland, TN. He was a son of the late Frank Johnson, Sr. and Clara Ollie Cravens Johnson.

He is survived by 1 daughter: Kristin Claiborne and husband, Troy, Cookeville, TN;

1 sister: Lois Davis, Scottsville, KY;

4 grandchildren: Alex Claiborne, Carter Claiborne, Jake Claiborne and Kenni Claiborne.

He was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Joyce Payne and Linda Kemble and 5 brothers: Ricky, Larry, Danny, Frank Jr. and Jimmy Johnson.

Memorial service will be 4:00 p.m. Saturday at Goad Funeral Home. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Goad Funeral Home.
