Billy Joe Johnson, Sr. 51, of Keysville, VA went to be with the Lord on January 2, 2026. He was preceded in death by his father William Archie Johnson and a brother, Christopher Jason Devers. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Tammy Courtney Johnson; his daughter, Hannah Kinker (Cameron); his sons, Billy, Jr., Aaron, Dakota and William; his grandson, Landon Windsor; his mother, Diane Brittle Devers (Burt); his sister, Sarah McDaniel (Keith) and his brothers, Lonnie Johnson (Kristin) and Phillip Devers (Monica); nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Billy was born January 24, 1974 in Miami, Florida. He grew up in Hopewell, VA and delivered pizzas for a few years before starting a career as a truck driver. He drove for Drew Transport and later Cambell Trucking in Keysville. He was proud of his past memberships with the Keysville Fire Department and the Meherrin Fire and Rescue. Billy could fix anything – if he couldn’t fix it – It couldn’t be fixed. He enjoyed many things but his greatest joy was being with family and helping others. He will always be remembered for his faith – he always said “It will be alright.” The family will receive friends Friday, January 9, 2026 at the Staples Funeral Home in Victoria from 12 noon until start of services at 2PM. Interment to follow at the Lakeview Cemetery in Victoria. In lieu of flowers the family ask to please consider memorial donations to the Staples Funeral Home, P.O. Box 96, Victoria, Va. to help with funeral expenses.
