Billy Wayne Kitchen, affectionately known as "Pee Paw" and "Mr. K" and "Papa K," passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 6, 2025, at his home in St. Peters, Missouri. Born on April 23, 1932, in Gideon, Missouri, he lived a life rich with love, laughter, and dedication to both his family and his community.

Billy dedicated over 30 years to building F-4 and F-18 Fighter Jets for McDonnell Douglas. His commitment and expertise in his career were only rivaled by the vast love he showed his family and friends. A proud alumnus of Gideon High School, he cherished the annual reunions and maintained deep connections with his high school friends throughout his life.

Beyond his professional life, Billy was a beloved coach, leading a church softball team of girls who flourished under his guidance. He often took these young athletes to several citywide championships, and their bonds remained strong through the years. Each of his players fondly remembers Mr. K for his nurturing spirit and unwavering support, a testament to his caring nature.

Billy's personality radiated warmth and generosity. He was deeply faithful, not only to God but to his church family, where he was known for his welcoming demeanor and sharp sense of humor. Whether coaching youth sports, tending to his yard, or sharing stories during travels across all 50 states and various countries, he infused laughter and joy wherever he went. His marriage to Chris lasted over 72 wonderful years, and together, they created a legacy filled with love that surrounds them even in his passing.

He is survived by his loving daughters, Debra (Marty) Fowler and Reatha (Martin) Dickerson, along with son-in-law Bill Claiborne, who was the devoted husband of the late Susan. Billy leaves behind a cherished lineage of grandchildren: Mark Claiborne, Ben (Kelly) Claiborne, Danielle (Kurt) Hey, Gabe (Randi) Fowler, Paul Dickerson, Elena (David) Smith, and Carlton Dickerson. His love extended further to his great-grandchildren, Cody, Evan (Jena), Kira, Ethan, Wyatt, Noah, Eddie, Kohen, Cameron, Isabella, William, and Leopold, and his two great-great-grandchildren, Brynlee and Isla Hey.

He is also survived by his sister, Dorothea (William) Wallace, along with many other family members and friends, who join in honoring his remarkable life. Billy is reunited with his beloved wife, Chris Kitchen; his daughter, Susan Claiborne; his son Barry Kitchen; his parents, Ercell and Blanche Kitchen; and his brothers, Ercell Kitchen Jr. and Ronnie Kitchen.

Billy Wayne Kitchen's life exemplified love, family, and laughter. His legacy will continue to inspire and uplift all who had the privilege of knowing him. Through his family, friends, and countless memories, Billy lives on in the hearts of many, forever remembered as a kind soul who brought joy and strength to those around him.

The family is planning a celebration of life at a later date.
