Billy Eugene Lashmit, 71, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center. Billy was born on March 12, 1953, to the late Robert Gray Lashmit and Betty Jean Lashmit in Farmington, NC.
Billy served in the Army, 3rd Arm Tank Division for four years. He also served as a volunteer firefighter for the Union Cross Volunteer Fire Department where he earned the Volunteer Firefighter of the Year award twice and as an EMT for the Forsyth County EMS for several years. He retired from AMP/TYCO in 2015 after 35 years of service.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Deborah Lashmit; his son, Chris Lashmit (wife Mandy); daughter, Alicia Mueller (husband Chris); brother, Alex Lashmit; and 5 grandchildren, Austin, Devin, Melody, Garrett, and Madison.
A procession will begin at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel at 7:30AM and end with a graveside service at Salisbury National Cemetery at 9:00AM on Friday, July 5, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations to be made to the American Heart Association or the Wounded Warrier Project.
