Billy Linton

William A. Linton Jr., age 62, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 28, 2026, after a brief illness.

Billy was born in Wilmington, DE, son of the late William Linton and Janice (Santowski) Hicks. He was an industrial painter by trade and worked for various local companies throughout his career.

Bill was very handy; and could fix, install, remove or replace just about anything. He loved to cook and enjoyed family gatherings around the holidays. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers; and was a lover of animals of all kinds. He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Kenny; her children, Joshua, Amber, Autumn, and Tyler Singer; grandchildren, Jacelyn Singer, Kylie and Liam Bell, and Rowan Snyder; his brothers, Michael and Robert Linton; his in-laws, Peg, Thomas, Christopher, and Melissa Kenny; and his nieces and nephew, Iris, Lady, Alyssa, and Brandon Kenny.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Bernie Kenny.

A memorial service for Billy will be celebrated at 11:30am on Monday, March 9, 2026 at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10:00am.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Billy's memory may be made to the Brandywine Valley SPCA – 290 Churchmans Road, New Castle, DE 19720.
