Billy Joe "Bill" Miracle, age 82, a lifelong resident of
Middlesboro, Kentucky passed away December 16, 2025 at the UT Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee following a brief illness.
Bill was born in
Middlesboro, Kentucky on January 4, 1943 to the late Chester A. and Viola Miracle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Peggy Miracle, his beloved wife of 55 years, brothers, Gene Miracle, Roger Miracle, Jack Miracle, Junior Miracle, Cliff Miracle, Don Miracle, David Miracle, sister, Edna Reynolds, and infant sisters, Rebecca and Betsy.
Bill retired from Consolidated Coal Mines after working there 22 years. Bill was a very passionate outdoorsman who loved four-wheeling in the mountains and going fishing. He was always looking for the perfect crappie hole to fish so that he could catch a mess to bring home and fry. Bill was known for his skills as a shade tree mechanic. If it was broke, you knew who to call because Bill could fix anything! He truly enjoyed fixing whatever was brought to him because he could fix anything. Bill was a veritable jack of all trades. But most of all, Bill loved his family and would do anything that he could to help them and bring joy into their lives.
Bill is survived by his three children, Tim "Hump" Miracle and wife Kathy, Karen Miracle Miller and husband Clyde, and Teresa Miracle Durbin and husband Blaine, grandchildren, Sean Simpson, BJ Brock, Jessica Durbin, Teagen Brock, McKinzie Toler, Chandler Nelson, Logan Miracle, Dallas Zimmerman, and Dylan Miller, great-grandchildren, Cameron, Brooklyn, Presley, Kinley, Liam, Eleanor, Abbie, Rowan, Sophie, Mareena, Graham, Carson, Laikley, Max, Saint, and Finnan, three sisters-in-law, Alma Miracle, Faye Miracle, and Bernice Miracle, special friends, Mike Marcum, Morgan Bayless, Barry Teague, and Roger Blakemore, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, neighbors, and friends who will miss him so very much.
The family of Bill Miracle will receive friends Friday, December 19, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Green Hills Funeral Home.
Family and friends will meet Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 11:15 a.m. at Green Hills Funeral Home to leave in procession to Oakview/Yeary Cemetery in
Middlesboro, Kentucky where graveside services will be conducted by Dr. William Boyd Bingham, III.
His grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers are Carl Frith, Mike Marcum, Morgan Bayless, Barry Teague, Roger Blakemore, Kyle Dunn, Shane Stewart, Matt Miracle and Joe Harris.
