Mr. Billy Wayne Murphy

Mr. Billy Wayne Murphy, born on July 4, 1950, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026, was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at 12:00 noon at Scottsboro Funeral Home with Bro. Jason Lee, Bro. Chris Bell, and Bro. Ryan Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Pinehaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

Billy shared 55 years of marriage with the love of his life, Brenda Kay Murphy. Together, they built a family filled with love and memories. He was a proud father to three children: Billy Murphy (Melinda Murphy), Lori Culpepper (Terry Culpepper), Misty Smith (Ronnie Smith); Billy was a loving grandfather to: Kimberly Long (Hayden Long), Autum Coots (Cody Coots), Hunter Murphy (Jess Murphy), Kaylea McAllister, Darby Culpepper, Luke Smith; He was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Layla Long, Noah Coots, and Grayson Coots. Billy also claimed his "borrowed" grandchildren, Chloe Britt, Ridge Wells, and Barry Rehm. He is survived by his brothers, Carl Murphy (Ruby Murphy) and Danny Murphy (Lori Murphy) as well as several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Billy was preceded in death by two precious great-grandbaby angels, Autum and Cody; his mother, Lorene Hastings; his sister, Barbara Ann Murphy; and his brothers, Charlie Murphy, Dennis Murphy, and Frankie Murphy.

Billy Wayne attended Hope Hill Church. He retired from Nelson Elementary, where he worked as a custodian for 24 years. Billy Wayne Murphy lives on through the many lives he touched and the family he cherished so dearly.
