Billy Charles Norman, 79, passed away peacefully on Dec. 14th, 2025, at his home in Mayflower Arkansas, surrounded by his loving family.
Billy was born to Herbert and Murlar Brannen Norman on January 29, 1946, in Lawtey, Florida. He graduated Bradford Co. High School in 1964 In 1989 he married the love of his life, Edith Fay Norman and they enjoyed an amazing life together until her death in 2009.
Billy was a hardworking man who worked construction during his younger years and enjoyed being self-employed until his retirement. After retirement he moved back to Florida and enjoyed fishing in the lakes around Leesburg. After his wife's passing, he came back to Bradford Co. where he farmed 27 acres that he enjoyed growing a variety of fresh vegetables on. He could grow just about anything he wanted but I will tell you, he grew the best dang tomatoes you ever ate.
HIs children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. They will remember his for his kind heart, unwavering love, and dedication to his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his infant brother Wayne, his loving wife Fay, Son Douglas Scott and Son in Law Quinton Gordon. .
He is survived by Daughter Lisa Norman Hansen of Starke, Florida, Daughter Kim Gordon of Mannford Oklahoma and Son Buddy (Sharon) Norman of Greenbriar Arkansas. Sister Carolyn Yarbrough, of Lawtey Florida, 7 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at Dyal Cemetery on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 11:00am.
Billy will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
