Billy Lee Rains, 76, of Gainesville, passed away on September 29, 2025 in Dallas at the age of 76. He was born on March 12, 1949 in Thackerville, OK to Millard Owen (M.O.) and Ruby Lee (Boggs) Rains.
Billy was employed by the city of Gainesville as Animal Control Officer for many years. He loved to cook brisket and enjoyed playing bluegrass music. In his younger days, he enjoyed fast cars. He always had time for his grandkids and loved them dearly.
Mr. Rains is survived by his sister Lennie Faye Sewell of Gainesville.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Charles and Jimmy Rains, and daughter Shawna Lynn Rains.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
