Billy Wayne (B.W.) Roe, 90, of Robert Lee, Texas, passed away on November 2, 2025. He was born on August 18, 1935, in Runnels County, Texas, to Bill and Inez Roe.
On August 23, 1957, he married Dolores Jones at Silver Methodist Church. Their marriage of nearly 68 years was built on unwavering devotion, shared adventures, and a love that inspired all who knew them. He was a devoted husband and a loving father to their son, Kevin Roe, who preceded him in death.
B.W. served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959 and later sold cars at Ivey Motor Company, eventually taking ownership of the business in 1997 and running it until his retirement in 2015. Known for his honesty, dedication, and friendly nature, he built lasting relationships with his customers and the community through decades of service.
A longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Robert Lee and a faithful member of the Masonic Lodge, he cared deeply about his community and spent his life serving others with humility and kindness. He was also actively involved in supporting Robert Lee ISD programs, helping to enhance students' school experiences and opportunities.
When he wasn't at the dealership selling cars (or enjoying coffee), B.W. could often be found at his beloved 7R Ranch, on the golf course, or cheering for the Robert Lee Steers at a sporting event. He cherished these moments with family, friends, and his community, reflecting his warm, approachable personality, love for the outdoors, and strong work ethic. B.W. was admired and respected by all who knew him.
B.W. is survived by his daughter-in-law, Tammy Roe, and grandchildren: Shelby Ebarb and her husband Addison, Lindsey Oh and her husband Allen, and Chase Roe and his husband Reno Gomez. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Addison, Brooklyn, Bryant, and Paxton. He is survived by his siblings: sister Sandy Caves and brothers Ray Don Roe and Billy Jack Roe. He was preceded in death by his wife Dolores, his son Kevin, his brother Terrell Roe, and his sisters Anita Miller and Cathy Day.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Shaffer Funeral Home in Robert Lee from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. A visitation with the family present will take place on Friday, November 7, 2025, at the First United Methodist Church Family Life Center in Robert Lee, beginning at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Robert Lee or the Robert Lee Care Center. The family is deeply thankful for the love, care, and support provided to Billy Wayne by the RLCC.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chase Roe, Clay Allen, Stephen Myers, Buddy Wallace, Jamie Sawyer, and Delfino Navarro.
B.W. will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His strength, generosity, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of those he cherished. He is now joyfully reunited with his beloved Dolores.
