Billy Sebesta Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Davis Greenlawn Funeral Chapels and Cemeteries on May 13, 2025.
Billy Joe Sebesta, 86, of Rosenberg, passed away surrounded by his family. He was born in Hempstead, Texas on May 15, 1938, to Helen (Kopycinski) and Bennie Sebesta.
Billy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was so proud of Mark and Marla, and he loved his children and grandchildren more than anything in the world. He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Billy worked for the Fort Bend County Drainage District for 38 years as a dozer operator. After retirement, he continued to run a dozer for Mark Muegge and then for his son-in-law, Wade Ernest until he physically could not anymore. Billy's tractor was his pride and joy. His hobbies included river fishing, hunting, camping, and playing cards and dominoes. Billy had a great sense of humor and loved to crack jokes. Although he will be dearly missed, it brings us joy knowing he is walking free again.
Billy is survived by his loving wife, Waline of 64 wonderful years; his son, Mark Sebesta; his daughter Marla Ernest and husband Wade Ernest; Grandchildren: Tyler Ernest, Madison Duren and husband Koda, Keylee Ernest, Cheston Ernest; Great Grandchildren: Coulter and Sutton Duren, Grayson Cernoch; Sisters: Blanche McConnell and Nancy Gajewski.
Preceded in death: Parents, Helen (Kopycinski) and Bennie Sebesta; Siblings: Bernice Mazyn and husband Edward "Eddie", Tellas Sebesta Sr. and wife Helen, Frank Sebesta and wife Leona, Helen Mazurkiewicz and husband Steve, Brother-in-laws: Steve "Cotton" Gajewski and Bill McConnell; Nieces: Mary Ann Mazyn Kramer and Dorothy Mazyn Layton; Shirley Sebesta; Nephews: Johnny Sebesta, Tellas Sebesta Jr., Tommy Sebesta, Karl Georgi; Great Nephew: Kurt Hacker: Great-Great Niece: Meredith Witek. Pallbearers: Cheston Ernest, Tyler Ernest, Koda Duren, Dwayne Gajewski, Brian Sebesta, Ronnie Sebesta. Honorary Pallbearers: Coulter Duren and Grayson Cernoch.
