Billy Wayne Todd, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on November 21, 2025. Born to James Dudley Todd and Mabel Cavitt Todd in Duffau, Texas, Todd was the eldest of three children, along with his siblings, Freddie Todd and Zanna Todd Morris.
Love, family, and hard work defined Todd's life. While working as a seismographer in Winnsboro, Texas, he met the love of his life, Dixie Pinson, and his first daughter, Debra Sue Miears. He was surprised that Dixie didn't have three daughters as Carolyn Pinson Carr and Kathy Pinson Swann were always in tow. He quickly embraced them as his own, and with time, his family grew in unexpected and joyful ways. He was delighted to welcome his second daughter, Stephanie Todd Hankins, whom he affectionately nicknamed his "curtain climber." In 1991, Todd's heart was whole when he finally received the son he had always dreamed of, Chad Wayne Hankins. In 2000, the light of his life was born, Briar Todd Hankins, who was joined by Andrea Bearden Hankins in 2023.
A dedicated tradesman, Todd worked for many years as an electrician at LeTourneau, where he built a career marked by skill and reliability before retiring. Beyond his profession, he was a craftsman at heart. His love for woodworking was evident in the home he built with his own hands-a place filled with laughter, memories, and countless family gatherings.
Todd was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Dixie, in 2002. Though her passing was a profound loss, he honored her memory by living life to the fullest. He learned to dance, embraced new adventures, and found joy in helping his son-in-law with racecars. His resilience and zest for life inspired everyone who knew him.
Todd's legacy is one of devotion, humor, and perseverance. He will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his craftsmanship, and the joy he brought to those around him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
