Birdetta B. Kennedy

1933 - 2025

Birdetta B. Kennedy, 92, of Zelienople, passed away Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025, at Newhaven Court at Clearview, Butler.
Born Aug. 27, 1933, in Mars, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Hazel (Wagner) Gant.
Birdetta had one brother, Leon Gant Jr., who preceded her in death.
Birdetta graduated and received her diploma at Mars Area High School and continued her education at Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pa., earning her teaching degree. She began her teaching career at North Allegheny School District in Pittsburgh. She continued teaching at Rowan Elementary School in Cranberry Township, and lastly at Connoquenessing Valley Elementary School in Zelienople, where she retired.
Birdetta was a member of St. Peter's Reformed Church of Zelienople. She enjoyed spending time with her husband and children. She enjoyed collecting antiques, decorating her home, cooking, baking and canning. Birdetta will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her wonderful son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Dolly (Covert) Kennedy, of Prospect; and two grandchildren, Ashley Kennedy, of Arlington, Va., and Tyler Kennedy, of Prospect.
Birdetta was preceded in death by her daughter, Heather L. Kennedy, who passed away June 25, 2008; and her husband, David H. Kennedy, who passed away May 4, 2020.
KENNEDY - Friends of Birdetta B. Kennedy, who died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025, will be received for visitation from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 17, at the funeral home with the Rev. Maurice Smith officiating.
She will be laid to rest beside her husband at St. Peter's Reformed Church Cemetery in Zelienople.
