Birgit I. Bohne
57, of Richmond Township, passed away July 19, 2022, at home with family by her side.
She was born in Kyllburg, Germany, November 9, 1964, the daughter of the late Alfons and Angela (Klink) Adams. Her marriage to Frederic H. Bohne, Jr., was June 7, 1985, in Speicher, Germany, while he was stationed at Spangdahlem Air Base. Birgit was born in Germany and moved with her husband to California, Nebraska, and Texas before they moved to Michigan in 2005. She had worked at the Army Air Exchange Service and as a department supervisor for 12 years at Sam's Club. Birgit had a heart of gold. She was always helping and doing for everyone else. She was selfless and put everyone else before herself, even though she was the one fighting the biggest battle. She stayed positive and strong every single day and never complained. Birgit made an impact on every person she met. It was the greatest privilege and honor having her in our lives. Surviving are her husband, Fred; two daughters, Natascha (Ryan) Wahl and Nicole Bohne, both of Richmond; five grandchildren, Hanna, William, Emmaleigh, Christopher, and Charlotte; three brothers, Reinhardt, Bruno, and Hans-Juergen Adams, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her sister, Rita.
Birgit and her family want to thank Dr. Hanna and all the staff at the Karmanos Cancer Institute, McLaren Port Huron, for their friendship, support and love over the past 12 years, they are a very special group of people.
